Our highly skilled nursing team of almost 3, includes over nurse practitioners, nearly 40 clinical nurse specialists and more than a dozen nurse educators.

MSK direct care nurses enjoy their work more than nurses from other hospitals. We invite you join us as we continue to advance the nursing profession, the science of medicine and the future of cancer care.

Nursing Specialties Almost everything we do clinically — from new initiatives to well-established practices — not only involves our nursing team but also depends on the level of nursing excellence that is a hallmark of our success at Memorial Sloan Kettering MSK.

This holds true whatever the activity and wherever it occurs: Acute Care Acute Care nurses staff nine inpatient units organized by disease site that require proficiency in the complex medical and surgical management of patients with a particular oncologic disease. This approach fosters a close bond among nurses, patients and families, while also supporting our strong primary care nursing model.

Ambulatory MSK provides comprehensive outpatient care services for adolescent, adult, and geriatric oncology patients.

Mentoring in nursing Ambulatory nurses collaboratively manage patients within busy office practices, while others administer outpatient chemotherapy and support patients receiving radiation treatment.

The Ambulatory team also includes Nurse Practitioners who staff cancer-screening centers and employee health and wellness services, and Clinical Research Nurses who facilitate, monitor, and support patients enrolled in clinical trials. Our nurses also demonstrate expertise in sub-specialized and age-appropriate care for our pediatric patients, and support the entire family unit during their cancer diagnosis and treatment experience.

Informatics Our Nursing Informatics team manages a variety of clinical nursing system projects such as: This includes working with nursing clinical analysts and senior systems analysts on all aspects of project planning, budgeting and deployment — from readiness assessment and planning through vendor selection, to completion of implementation and on-going improvement.

Our Advanced Practice Nurses actively participate in the delivery of patient care, within a continuously evolving care delivery system that serves patients of all ages.

Nurse Practitioners may see patients autonomously or may collaborate as team members.
